STUDIO TAN

This past Friday and Saturday, my trio spent many hours in Bandmother Recording recording more parts. This weather has been perfect though.

Studio tan!

Brian recorded all of his bass parts over the course of a day and a half. He knocked out seven of the eight songs Friday (from 11:30 til 7:30!) By the eighth song, we were all spent so we broke for the rest of the night. This morning, Brian nailed the eighth tune (the one with TC Tolliver) and after listening to all the drum/bass tracks, we agreed they sounded thunderous.

Which meant it was my turn in the hot seat.

After chasing tones for about an hour, we finalized something that was totally crushing! And yes, Orange amps are the gear of choice. Did three songs virtually spotless, and then added some interesting surprises before calling it a day. We did not want to spend another 12 hours staring at the same four walls. Don’t get me wrong, Mike’s studio is really cool: Bandmother Recording but after so many hours, we like sunlight!!!

Next two sessions will be this coming Wednesday and Saturday, so we’ll see what we can accomplish. It really has been pretty smooth sailing doing this album. Everyone are on the same page, the bad humor is flowing, and the music is really cookin’. And isn’t that why we do music in the first place?

Get back to me on that.
